Jonathan has been an asset to Events by Rincon for over 25 years. Over the years he has juggled many hats within the company. Now as Managing Partner with Alyssa Searcy. You will find Jonathan overseeing every department at Rincon, he can even be found in the kitchen supporting his kitchen team!
Not only is Jonathan a strong leader at Events by Rincon, he is a strong team member. His leadership and support as a team member is huge part of the success at Rincon.
Jonathan’s dedication to his family and to the Rincon family are important assets to the foundation of Rincon Events. Other than his passion for success at Rincon, his passion is his family. Married to his beautiful wife, Wendy, and raising his amazing son and daughter. Jonathan enjoys his time off by spending time fishing, hiking, biking and with his family.
Alyssa has found her way back to team Rincon after all these years! Her first job was interning with the Rincon team when she was 13 years old. She has had a passion for baking and hospitality since I was young. She pursued that passion as she attended Johnson and Wales and receiving her Associates Degree in baking and pastry. She also has her Bachelor’s in food service management with a minor in beverage management.
Born and raised in Camarillo, the Santa Barbara area is home to her.
She is honored to continue on the legacy of Rincon with her partner Jonathan Sotelo. Continuing to share her gifts in food service and events. Alyssa loves creating unique experiences for guests and focusing on every last important detail.
Her free time is now filled with the amazing world of being a new mom to her perfect little girl!
After over a decade of experience in the event field, Aly joined Events by Rincon as the General Manager and could not be happier. She obtained the designation of Certified Special Events Professional through the International Live Events Association in 2022 and jumps at any opportunity to continue her education and further her expertise in the events field. She delights in helping her clients create outstanding, personalized events for life’s memorable moments. Her attention to detail, tireless work ethic, and dedication to excellence are key to her success. That and the incredible support of the entire Rincon Family!
Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Aly has a BA in Theatre Arts and French from Furman University in Greenville, SC. She has lived in five states and a National Park. Along the way, she has worked in theaters, hotels, and a bridal store where her passion for weddings bloomed. She adores travel and always has the next trip booked before her vacation ends.
For Megan, creating unforgettable celebrations is more than a profession—it’s a calling. Born and raised in the Oxnard-Camarillo region, Megan grew up in a proud farming family where she developed a strong appreciation for the values of community and connection. Her inspiration stems from her Mother and late Grandmother-in-law, whose gifts of bringing people together continues to shape her daily approach. Rooted in these values, her vibrant energy and heartfelt dedication infuse every aspect of her work, driving her to create intentional and beautiful celebrations that foster genuine connections and lasting memories.
With her Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management and over five years of industry experience, she brings a unique combination of professionalism and infectious enthusiasm to the Rincon team! Whether it’s a wedding or a special celebration, Megan is committed to making every unique moment unforgettable.
When she’s not in the office, Megan enjoys riding bikes with her family, watching movies with her husband and kitties, driving through the farmland (windows down, of course), and exploring the never ending aisles of Costco!
Monica graduated from SBCC culinary school in 2013 and has spent the years following working as a person chef around Montecito and Santa Barbara. She has also spent the last few years working with other catering companies around town before finding her way to Events by Rincon, how lucky are we!
When Monica is not found working on her expertise in the kitchen, she spends her time with her 8 year old son, who is the center of her world.
During her free time Monica is either hiking a new trail, backpacking or play with her son at the beach.
Monica Joined the Rincon team this year as the production manager and is looking forward to many more years with the Rincon family.
Eloise’s event planning skills and love for the industry came full-circle once she joined Rincon in December, 2014. After 2 years of working with Rincon Beach Club clients, Eloise now handles everything from Social to Corporate clients at any location in the ‘805’
As a Santa Barbara native, deep roots and love for her hometown, her knowledge and passion for the Santa Barbara community is a strong asset for Team Rincon. A keen eye for detail, a remarkable sensibility to clients needs and an obsessive desire to get things right are her trademarks.
During her well earned down time, Eloise can be found traveling foreign countries, hiking the woods of California, camping, fly fishing, and experimenting in her own kitchen. Not only does Eloise slay in the event world, she also kills it on the pingpong table.
Sumner is a great asset to Team Rincon. Sumner grew up in Franklin, TN just outside of Nashville with her close-knit family. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors in Psychology and moved to California in February 2013, for more opportunities in the event industry. Working with Rincon from 2013 - 2017 in the office as a coordinator and planner on the sales team.
After working with our corporate, social, and wedding clients as a coordinator, Sumner is now heading our Web Design and Marketing Department. Her focus is on Social Media, Web design and connecting with all of our amazing clients and vendors! These days, her free time is spent enjoying being a mom to a toddler! Sumner now lives in Nashville, TN working remotely for Events by Rincon.

Marc Borowitz is self-taught as he spent his youth in the kitchen and worked his way up from bus boy to opening his own restaurant, Brandon's in 1984.
Brandon's has since developed into Events by Rincon which boasts two premier venues-Rincon Beach Club and the Santa Barbara Zoo. Marc has a strong passion for the event industry and is very hands-on with the management of the company. He believes in giving guests an amazing experience from start to finish.
Carol Borowitz
Carol Borowitz is co-founder, with her husband Marc, of Rincon Beach Club and Catering.
For over a decade Carol has worked side by side with Marc sharing her passion for the business and enriching the lives of many people through events and design.
